ANNOUNCER
Scroll and Dagger presents:
Quest of Ruin
Episode Twenty-Seven
Carrion Maker

[Theme fades to urban background noise, with sounds of stationery and dice in the foreground.]

GAME MASTER
Hello and welcome to Quest of Ruin, the post-apocalyptic fantasy roleplaying podcast. I am your host and Game Master. And these are the players.

PLAYERS
Hello!

GAME MASTER
So, last time you were still investigating a string of poisonings that had been taking place in Sacara in an attempt to avoid being arrested for the crimes yourselves. At first it seemed that it was all part of some political game but then you encountered a dibolu assassin –

LEAH
With my help.

GAME MASTER
Yes yes, well done you, anyway, he told you that there have been murders among the commoners as well. And it looks like it’s the same person who’s been poisoning the nobility.

WILL
But those ones happened before the nobles started getting killed?

GAME MASTER
Yes, that’s right.

GINA
Maybe they were practicing? Testing the poison out on people nobody would miss before moving onto the nobles?

MATT
But another peasant’s just been killed, right?

GAME MASTER
Yes, before he left, the dibolu said that the poisoner has struck again on the other side of town. Another commoner.

ROSIE
Then we should probably get over there.

[Transitioning to the streets of Sacara, the crowd talks amongst themselves.]

LAETHAR
Stand aside, thank you. Move aside, please.

YAELA
Thank you, thank you, we are looking into these murders, if we could just –

BALINK
Ooh, cool! This one’s green!

VURIETH
I am sorry, what?

BALINK
He’s green!

LAETHAR
By the gods…

AIOLIN
We should usher everyone away. Yaela, there are children.

YAELA
Oh goodness. Um, hello everyone, we understand this is a horrible event but if we could just make some space here, we are trying to help you.

SACARAN PAUPER 1
You? Help us? No one helps us!

SACARAN PAUPER 2
Yeah! What’s a bunch of creatures gonna do when our own city council don’t do nothing?

LAETHAR
I beg your –

YAELA
Not now, Laethar. [to the crowd] Look, we are here to help but we cannot do that unless you cooperate.

SACARAN PAUPER 2
Screw off, scum! We don’t need creatures hanging around making things all the worse!

BALINK
Oi! We’re trying here! Could be a bit grateful, none of you lot have done very much, have you? A bunch of your own have been killed!

YAELA
Binks, enough.

[The crowd bickers.]

YAELA
Look, can anyone at least tell us who this poor man was?

SACARAN PAUPER 3
He’s the Thatchers’ son!

SACARAN PAUPER 1
And good riddance too!

[The crowd bickers.]

YAELA
“Good riddance?” You wanted this man dead?

[The crowd yells back.]

AIOLIN
Quiet!

[Silence.]

LAETHAR
Thank you. Now, you! Why would it be good riddance for this man to be dead?

SACARAN PAUPER 1
Yeah, well it was him doing the poisonings. Everyone knew this. Why would we not be happy that a murderer is at last dead?

AIOLIN
Why would he have poisoned himself?

SACARAN PAUPER 2
Guilty conscience. Or he knew he was about to be caught.

SACARAN PAUPER 3
Hey, you! Viajante! Leave that alone.

BALINK
Don’t you lay a finger on them!

VURIETH
Aha! I thought so. Laethar, look!

[Paper rustles.]

LAETHAR
Ah.

SACARAN PAUPER 2
What is it?

YAELA
It’s another hand print. Like the one we found on that Adalia girl.

BALINK
Blood looks fresh on this one too.

SACARAM PAUPER 3
Adalia? You mean the heiress of House Aritza?

SACARAN PAUPER 1
I didn’t hear about that one!

[The crowd mutters.]

LAETHAR
What do you think, Aiolin?

AIOLIN
I’ve been thinking on it since we found the last one. I don’t remember reading or hearing about anything like it but that’s not to say it doesn’t have some significance.

YAELA
Come to think of it, did we ask the people we spoke to if something like this was found with the bodies?

LAETHAR
No, I don’t believe we did.

VURIETH
Perhaps we should go and ask some more questions.

BALINK
Yeah, starting with that Lady Bolivar. Think she’ll be happy to see you again, eh Laethar?

LAETHAR
Oh shut up.

YAELA
[amused] No, he’s right. I think that’s an excellent idea.

LAETHAR
[desperate] But… but it’s far too late to call in now!

BALINK
Oh, I doubt she’d be mad. Come on, let’s go.

LAETHAR
Hey!

BALINK
Go on, get moving. You still got that head wrapping, Vurieth?

VURIETH
[chuckles] I do indeed.

YAELA
Thank you for your help, everyone, you’ve been very helpful.

LAETHAR
[distantly] They were no help whatsoever!

YAELA
Oh hush, you!

[The sound of the crowd fades out, and footsteps move along the path.]

BALINK
Right, just up here. You ready to be charming?

LAETHAR
One more word out of you, goblin, just one more word!

AIOLIN
Vurieth, hang back a minute, would you?

VURIETH
What?

YAELA
Everything alright?

AIOLIN
Yeah, just need to tell them something, we’ll catch up.

YAELA
Alright, but don’t be too long.

[Yaela walks away.]

VURIETH
What is it?

AIOLIN
I’ve been working on the book. At night. Balink finished the Deeper translations for me which sped things up.

VURIETH
Really? Have you been able to discover anything?

AIOLIN
Not much. I’m double checking anything I translate from the book, just to be sure, but I think I’ve got it right. I have translated the title at least, look.

[He pulls the book out of his bag.]

VURIETH
What am I looking at?

AIOLIN
Well this glyph here, that means beginnings or origins. This one at the end, I think, means domination or mastery. This one here’s a bit tricky, ’cause it’s linked, but I think it means species. At least, that glyph definitely means people and it’s connected to this one which means groups.

VURIETH
So it is; “The Origin of the Dominant Species”?

AIOLIN
Remember? The title mentioned in Master Sonrai’s journal? We definitely have the right book. I’m still checking this but I’m sure I’m right, all through the first few pages there’s this glyph-pairing. I saw it on the Calad’elu stone and checked Balink’s translation. It was about blood lines and the blood of heroes and this glyph-pairing was used both times.

VURIETH
So it means blood?

AIOLIN
I think this book might be the answer to your problem. If it is about the origin of vampirism, it should explain what that scum did to you, and how we can reverse it.

VURIETH
Do not call them that!

AIOLIN
What?

VURIETH
They are… they are not… no, I am sorry. I do not know what came over me.

BALINK
[distantly] Oi! Are you two coming or what?

VURIETH
Yes. Yes, indeed we are. Aiolin, thank you, my friend. I am grateful for what you have done. This is wonderful news. Let me know if you find anything else.

AIOLIN
Of course. Now, let’s go before Balink explodes.

VURIETH
Yes, indeed. We must not keep Lady Bolivar waiting.

[Sharing a laugh, they move away. Eventually, they knock on the door.]

BALINK
Right, Laethar, you stand in front.

LAETHAR
You are enjoying this far too much, you know.

YAELA
He is right, though. You’re supposed to be the inquisitor.

[Laethar makes a sound of frustration, and then the door is opened.]

EMILIO
Yes?

LAETHAR
Uh, Emilio, I believe? We’re here to see Lady Bolivar.

EMILIO
Ah, Inquisitor. I am afraid the Lady Bolivar is… well… indisposed at the moment.

LAETHAR
Are you refusing entry to an agent of the Inquisition?

EMILIO
I… no, no of course not. I shall let her know you have arrived. Please wait in the vestibule with your… um… servants.

[Emilio walks away.]

YAELA
Nicely done.

VURIETH
How did you know that would work?

LAETHAR
I didn’t, I only guessed.

AIOLIN
Well looks like it paid off.

LAETHAR
Do you still have the hand-print, Ashlander?

VURIETH
Yes, I have it here.

LAETHAR
Alright, let’s see what we can find out.

[Inside the mansion, they all sip tea.]

LAETHAR
I detest this.

YAELA
Hush.

VURIETH
It will not be for too long, my friend.

BALINK
What do you reckon she’ll be wearing this time?

AIOLIN
Why are you so interested?

BALINK
Cause it’s funny? Don’t you think?

[Heels click on the marble floor.]

BALINK
Oop, I think we’re about to find out!

LADY BOLIVAR
Oh my dear Leoncio, to what do I owe the absolute pleasure?

LAETHAR
Oh good grief.

LADY BOLIVAR
Have I rendered you speechless?

LAETHAR
No, no, I assure you, Lady Bolivar –

LADY BOLIVAR
Did or did I not insist the last time that you call me Nina?

LAETHAR
… Nina. So, the reason for our return is that we have some further questions regarding your husband’s murder.

LADY BOLIVAR
I see. Well, sit, my dear sweet man. Tell me all you have to ask.

[Laethar sits.]

LAETHAR
Was there anything found on your husband’s body? Papers, a handkerchief, that sort of thing?

LADY BOLIVAR
No, nothing of the sort.

LAETHAR
Are you certain? Nothing at all?

LADY BOLIVAR
No, none that I can remember.

LAETHAR
Interesting, because we found this on the latest body.

[He produces the handprint, and Lady Bolivar gasps softly before clearing her throat.]

LAETHAR
The same image was found next to the body of Adalia Aritza. We believe it’s a calling –

LADY BOLIVAR
Oh, well I – how strange. But I can assure you that –

[Footsteps.]

PEREGRIN
Mother? Did you find my gloves? This wretched thing may well bubble over and I do not wish to damage my hands – oh, you have… company.

LADY BOLIVAR
Ah, yes, do come in. Leoncio, this is my son, Peregrin. Peregrin dear, this is the one I was telling you about.

PEREGRIN
Oh, the inquisitor?

LAETHAR
Pleased to meet you.

BALINK
Are we just invisible?

YAELA
Hush.

PEREGRIN
You are looking into all these murders then?

LAETHAR
Yes, quite the nasty business.

PEREGRIN
What’ve they been asking you, mother? About father?

LADY BOLIVAR
Yes, dear, yes.

PEREGRIN
A sad day for our family.

LAETHAR
We are attempting to catch the culprit.

VURIETH
[whispering] He does not seem that sorrowful.

AIOLIN
Hmmm.

LAETHAR
We’re investigating a calling card that is left at the crime scenes.

VURIETH
Well, not all –

PEREGRIN
Oh yes, the bloody handprints! How vile.

LAETHAR
Yes… quite.

BALINK
[whispering] Wait, who told him about the handprints?

AIOLIN
No one.

LADY BOLIVAR
Oh yes, we heard about that from Lord Aritza. [pointedly] Didn’t we, Peregrin?

PEREGRIN
Oh, yes… yes. Well now, I shall be going. Places to be, you know.

LADY BOLIVAR
You are going out again?

PEREGRIN
Why yes, mother, I am.

LADY BOLIVAR
Where to this time?

PEREGRIN
Must I report my movements to you like a criminal, mother?

LADY BOLIVAR
[false laugh] I never said that, dearest.

LAETHAR
Have a pleasant evening.

PEREGRIN
You also, Inquisitor.

LADY BOLIVAR
When will you be back?

PEREGRIN
When I am back, mother. Or perhaps you will resort to following me again, hm?

LADY BOLIVAR
No, no. Have a – have a good night dear.

[Peregrin leaves.]

LADY BOLIVAR
Ah, he… he is such an active boy, always hither and thither.

LAETHAR
…Yes. Now, Lady –

LADY BOLIVAR
Ah-ah-ah.

LAETHAR
– Nina, my apologies. Perhaps we can move onto more pleasant conversation. Would you tell me more about that painting behind you? It is quite magnificent.

LADY BOLIVAR
Why of course, you dear sweet thing! Now, this was a purchase I made just last winter…

[Lady Bolivar continues to talk as Laethar speaks to Balink in an aside.]

LAETHAR
[whispering] Balink. Balink!

BALINK
Yeah?

LAETHAR
I need you to smash that vase.

BALINK
What?

LAETHAR
I will explain later, just do it. Now, while she’s distracted.) Oh yes, I see, such expression…

[They continue to talk.]

YAELA
What is he playing at?

BALINK
Don’t know, but someone tells me to smash things, I ain’t asking why.

VURIETH
He must have a reason – Laethar would not ask us to do anything so risky with no purpose.

AIOLIN
Go on then, quickly.

BALINK
Righty ho!

[He scampers across the carpet and pushes the vase. It smashes, and there is a scream.]

LAETHAR
Idiot goblin! I am so sorry, Lady Bolivar. That’s what I get for dealing with their kind, I suppose. I will remove them immediately.

LADY BOLIVAR
Do return, won’t you Leoncio? Perhaps without your clumsy creatures next time.

LAETHAR
I am certain we shall see each other very soon. Come on, you.

[The party walks on the gravelly path away from the Bolivar Estate.]

LAETHAR
Hurry, over here, where no one can hear us.

YAELA
Laethar, what was that about?

BALINK
I smashed it good!

VURIETH
What is it, my friend?

LAETHAR
I needed an excuse to get us out of there. I realised we’d heard Lady Bolivar’s voice before, before we went to her home the first time, I mean. Do any of you remember?

[Yaela, Balink, and Vurieth answer in confusion.]

AIOLIN
Yes.

BALINK
Eh?

AIOLIN
Remember the first body we found? Remember why we went down there in the first place?

YAELA
We heard a scream.

LAETHAR
Exactly. But how could there have been a scream?

YAELA
I don’t…

AIOLIN
It couldn’t have been the victim. She was dead by the time we got there and her throat was all blocked off from the poison. She wouldn’t have been able to scream. Which means it was someone else. Someone who saw the murder happen.

VURIETH
But no one came forward. Why would a witness not report what they saw?

YAELA
[realising] Because they can’t have wanted the murderer to be caught.

LAETHAR
It was her. It was her voice we heard screaming down that alley.

BALINK
But if she saw the murderer, why’d she not tell? They killed her husband!

AIOLIN
Because she didn’t want the murderer caught. She wanted to protect them.

YAELA
Because… [realising] the murderer is her son!

AIOLIN
I think we should have a word with young master Peregrin.

VURIETH
Perhaps we should inform Captain Duilio as well?

LAETHAR
I think so too.

BALINK
Bet you he won’t believe us.

[The streets are busy.]

CAPTAIN DUILIO
This is an outrageous claim!

BALINK
Told you.

CAPTAIN DUILIO
You expect me to believe that Peregrin Inocencio Bolivar, the heir of the Bolivar House, is the one behind these murders.

LAETHAR
Of course not.

AIOLIN
We don’t expect you to believe anything we say.

YAELA
But we are going to show you proof.

CAPTAIN DUILIO
And how will you do this?

VURIETH
First, we must find the boy.

YAELA
You know where he is?

CAPTAIN DUILIO
Well, he is often in the Aguila. It is a favourite of the elite and their children.

LAETHAR
Then that’s where we’re going.

[The club is busy – people laugh, drink, play cards. The door opens and the talking dies down.]

SACARAN SNOB 1
Now, see here –

LAETHAR
Sit down and shut up.

SACARAN SNOB 2
Well, really!

SACARAN SNOB 1
Captain, I must insist –

CAPTAIN DUILIO
My apologies. But we are looking for young Lord Peregrin Bolivar. Is he here?

[Scuffling sounds.]

AIOLIN
There! He’s trying to run!

YAELA
On it!

[A bolas is thrown – Peregrin falls, gasping in pain.]

BALINK
Nice!

CAPTAIN DUILIO
I will have your ears for that, Fae!

PEREGRIN
Get this off me, how dare you!

LAETHAR
You will stay right where you are.

PEREGRIN
Inquisitor? But, you are an elf!

AIOLIN
Observant fellow, isn’t he?

CAPTAIN DUILIO
Why did he call you Inquisitor? Have you been impersonating an agent of the Inquisition?

LAETHAR
Vurieth, do you have the paper?

VURIETH
Right here!

[Paper is rustled.]

PEREGRIN
No, get off! Do not touch me!

LAETHAR
I have his hand. Look, Captain – we shall compare it to the print on those calling cards.

PEREGRIN
Get off!

BALINK
Well, what do you know?

AIOLIN
A perfect match!

CAPTAIN DUILIO
It can’t be.

PEREGRIN
[desperate] That – that’s nothing! It doesn’t prove anything!

BALINK
Maybe not, but –

PEREGRIN
Hey!

[Small bottles clink.]

BALINK
Who’d like to bet what’s in these?

YAELA
Poison.

VURIETH
Perhaps planning another attack this very night.

[Peregrin laughs softly.]

PEREGRIN
Very well. I confess. I practised on the scum no one would miss and then began my mission. A member of each of the ruling families, dead at my hand.

LAETHAR
Enough proof for you, Captain?

CAPTAIN DUILIO
But, why? Why would you do this?

PEREGRIN
A test.

AIOLIN
What?

PEREGRIN
A test to prove I was worthy. To join the Hand of the Carrion Maker.

[Wings begin to flap.]

PEREGRIN
And I have passed.

[Glass shatters, and suddenly the club is filled with crows. There are screams and yells. The crows depart.]

BALINK
He’s gone!

CAPTAIN DUILIO
After him!

[The streets of Sacara are bustling.]

YAELA
A full day and a night of searching, and they still haven’t found him.

VURIETH
Looks like he has left the city.

BALINK
Think they was mad we didn’t help?

LAETHAR
I think they’re just glad to see the back of us.

AIOLIN
Yeah. Imagine how annoyed they’d be if us outlanders had not only solved their mystery but caught the murderer too.

YAELA
That is probably very true.

LAETHAR
Right then, shall we depart? We have supplies a-plenty, and I doubt Lady Bolivar will be too forgiving.

BALINK
How she weaseled out of getting arrested too is beyond me.

YAELA
I think one of the guards said that she had struck a deal.

AIOLIN
Figures. Didn’t seem much of the caring type, did she.

VURIETH
Unless you were the dear Inquisitor, of course.

[Balink snickers.]

LAETHAR
Oh do be quiet. Let’s leave, come on.

[There is the rushing sound of fae-stepping.]

RIUNT
I hear congratulations are in order.

AIOLIN
Gijak i golnauk! You again?

LAETHAR
Can you never just walk up to someone without the need for dramatics?

RIUNT
Now where would be the fun in that?

BALINK
You heard then? The poisoner was that rich kid, Peregrin.

RIUNT
I have indeed. Most interesting too, how he disappeared.

YAELA
We were there, we saw it.

VURIETH
I’ve never seen magic like it. I assumed it was some form of feramancy but even so, to control that many creatures at once was incredible.

RIUNT
Incredible yes. But foolhardy. To be playing around with magic like that.

AIOLIN
What do you mean?

RIUNT
“The Carrion Maker”, didn’t he say? Least, that’s what I heard. A dark, dangerous path, that. Only the truly deadly or truly foolish dare to walk it.

LAETHAR
What do you know of this?

RIUNT
Not much. I have some suspicions but no more than that. I may look into it though and, if I discover any more about it, I shall be sure to let my fellow shade-walker know.

BALINK
Thank you.

VURIETH
But we plan to leave the city today. How would you find us?

[Balink and Riunt laugh.]

RIUNT
Such dawn-dwellers. Don’t worry, I think I’ll be able to track him down. But for now I shall let you be going. It was, though brief, a pleasure.

YAELA
Thank you for your assistance.

VURIETH
Safe travels to you.

AIOLIN
Stay out of trouble.

LAETHAR
If you can.

RIUNT
No promises.

[The party begins to move off.]

RIUNT
Oh wait, I have something for you, Master Bam Baj.

[Riunt’s cloak rustles as Balink returns.]

RIUNT
There. For the next time you find yourself in a tight spot.

BALINK
What is it?

RIUNT
A momentary oubliette. Throw it at a wall or floor, then you will have a few seconds to get inside before it closes up. You can hide inside and choose when you re-emerge.

BALINK
Oh, woah! Thanks!

RIUNT
We must take care of our own, after all.

BALINK
Yeah! Oh, oh, here – here I got something you can have.

RIUNT
[surprised] I do not require a return gesture, I assure you.

BALINK
Shush, I know it’s in here someplace… aha! Here, this is for you. My dad made it, to remind me of home. But I reckon you need it more.

RIUNT
Is… is this a real Kapulstone?

BALINK
Yeah. Only a slither, not worth much. But if you wear that pin it’s on, you’ll be accepted in any goblin dwelling. Just – maybe don’t mention my name.

RIUNT
You are too generous, Bam Baj.

BALINK
Nah, we gotta look after our own, right?

RIUNT
[chuckles] Right.

BALINK
Hey, do I get to know your name now? I’ll tell you mine.

RIUNT
I suppose we know each other well enough now. I am known in our circles only as Swift, I am sure you can understand why.

BALINK
Uhuh, you’re sneaky fast, gotcha.

RIUNT
As for my true name, that would be Riunt Galephre.

BALINK
Nice to meet you, real you, Riunt. I’m Balink Fangsnor. But just Binks is fine.

RIUNT
A pleasure indeed, Binks. May your nights be cloudy, until we meet again.

BALINK
And your steps soft. See you soon!

[The party departs, and the great gates of Sacara swing closed.]

LAETHAR
Thank the gods. If I ever set foot in that place again it will be too soon.

VURIETH
I agree. Though, it was interesting to see so many humans in one place.

AIOLIN
Interesting, yes. But I’m ready to move on.

YAELA
The Sealine Lands, then?

LAETHAR
Yes indeed.

VURIETH
If we travel quickly, we can make Calenann in only a couple of days. It will be good to see the Ancestor’s Forest again.

AIOLIN
Then… let’s see.

[Aiolin unfurls the map.]

AIOLIN
Yep, then we can follow the River Caleun all the way to the sea.

[A cart rattles faintly.]

BALINK
Ooh! Up ahead, look look look! Maybe we can buy a ride from that guy.

VURIETH
Good idea.

LAETHAR
Well, let’s just hope they’re not Sacaran. I doubt they’d let us ride for a fair price.

YAELA
Ho there! Traveller!

[The cart comes to a stop. The party runs to catch up.]

LAETHAR
Ah, thank goodness, it’s a dwarf. Good day to you, I was – gods above us!

BALINK
What’s – oh…

ABNAY
Well isn’t the world a remarkable place?

BALINK
Ab?

VURIETH
Master Gearturner?

ABNAY
The one and only. And you can keep away from my cart, you little terror!

BALINK
I wasn’t doing anything!

ABNAY
Isn’t it funny how often things blow up around you despite you not doing anything.

[Balink grumbles.]

YAELA
What are you doing here? I thought you were up in Rotham?

ABNAY
What, so you lot are the only ones allowed to move around? I have business of my own, you know, and that business has drawn me down to this forsaken part of the world.

VURIETH
And what business is that?

ABNAY
My own… though I’d be lying if I said it was going smoothly.

AIOLIN
What happened?

ABNAY
Well if you must know, I am in need of some assistance with a rather important matter.

AIOLIN
And you tried to find it in Sacara?

ABNAY
Yes, well. It’s not as if I’m spoiled for choice these days when it comes to mercenaries. I thought I’d find a few here but the blight-ridden scabs wouldn’t even let me into the city.

LAETHAR
You’re looking for mercenaries?

ABNAY
Aye. It’s a big job. One commissioned by King Iswald himself.

LAETHAR
Iswald? What business would he have this far south?

ABNAY
Well, it’s not just him, in truth. It’s also at the request of the Cavernvault technigarchy. Baleyin in particular –

BALINK
Baleyin?! Professor Baleyin?

AIOLIN
The Head Mech’nist?

ABNAY
I see you’re familiar with his work?

AIOLIN
Of course! Who isn’t?

VURIETH
Well –

BALINK
Professor Baleyin was one of my teachers. He’s a genius!

ABNAY
Well, quite.

YAELA
So, King Iswald and this Baleyin, they’re both after something?

ABNAY
Precisely. And they’ve asked me to see it done.

LAETHAR
So, you’re in the market for some mercenaries?

ABNAY
… Yes… but, here’s the thing. Way I hear it, you’re not exactly in favour with the king of Stonehelm right now.

VURIETH
That is true.

YAELA
But he doesn’t have to know you hired us. You could just be vague about who you hired.

LAETHAR
And right now, it doesn’t look like you have many other options.

ABNAY
Well… that’s a fact. Alright, let’s just have a talk about it. Since it looks like we’re heading the same way.

[Dice roll and clatter at the gaming table.]

WILL
Alright so, where are we heading next?

MATT
Wherever it is, it probably won’t be good for me.

ROSIE
You’ve been alright for a few sessions now.

MATT
Exactly, so it’s just a matter of time. Especially as, I’m guessing, my magic’s still acting up?

GAME MASTER
Yep.

GINA
Still working on it.

GAME MASTER
Did you want to work on the translations as you travel?

GINA
Yeah, I think I will.

GAME MASTER
Okay.

LEAH
So, where are we going?

GAME MASTER
Well that is something that shall have to wait until next time.

GINA
Oh come on! Can’t you just give us a hint?

GAME MASTER
I mean, I probably could but I’m not going to. So, instead we shall say goodbye and we shall see you next time.

[The end theme plays and the Announcer recites the credits]
